- Worsted weight #4 yarn
- Scissors
- Darning needle
- J- Hook for body
Special Notes:
This pattern is worked in multiples of 4 and worked in the round
The Arrow Stitch is a 2 round set (tutorials can be found on YouTube)
requires a ch 1 and TURNING the work so that the round is worked on the “wrong side”. This is the only round that will be worked as such. In this round, work the DCs in front of the TC bar that is created but not over it, make sure that you can see the “arrow” being formed by the TC bars from the rounds
Round 10-12 are essentially and alpine stitch without the round of SC between the FPDC/DC rounds
Instructions:
Round 1: Foundation Chain HDC 72. Slst in 1st ch to form a circle.
Round 2: ch1, HDC 3rd loop around, slst into 1st ch.
Round 3: ch 1, HDC 3rd loop around slst into 1st ch.
Round 4: ch 1, DC 3rd loop around slst into 1st ch.
Round 5: (Arrow Stitch round) ch 1, skip 3 st, TC into the next st, DC into the skipped stitches BEHIND the TC bar that was created. sk 3 st, TC in next, DC into sksts BEHIND the TC bar. repeat around. slst into top of 1st st.
Round 6 (Worked on “Wrong side”) **ch 1 TURN** skip 3 st, TC into the next st, DC into the skipped stitches in front of the TC bar (but not over it). sk 3 st, TC in next, DC into sksts IN FRONT OF the TC. repeat around. slst into top of 1st st.
Round 7:(worked on “right side”) ch1 TURN. DC around slst into 1st ch
Round 8: ch 1 HDC around slst into 1st ch.
Round 9: ch 1 DC 3rd loop around, slst into 1st ch.
Round 10: ch 1 FPDC around the same DC as the join. DC into the next DC. FPDC around the next, DC into the next. Continue around. slst into 1st ch.
Round 11: ch 1 DC in the same FPDC as the join. FPDC around the next DC. DC into the next, FPDC into the next. Continue around. slst into 1st ch.
Round 12: ch 1 FPDC around the same DC as the join. DC into the next DC. FPDC around the next, DC into the next. Continue around. slst into 1st ch.
Round 13: Ch 1 HDC around, slst into 1st ch
Round 14: DC 3rd loop around, slst into 1st ch
Round 15: repeat round 5. (Arrow stitch)
Round 16: TURN repeat round 6 (Arrow stitch)
Round 17: ch 1, DC around, slst into 1st ch
Round 18: ch 1, HDC around, slst into 1st ch
Round 19: ch1, HDC 3rd loop around, slst into 1st ch.
Round 20: ch1, HDC 3rd loop around, slst into 1st ch.
Round 21: slip stitch in the 3rd loop around. Finish off and tie in the ends.
